Hare Statement on Illinois State Capital Bill
Congressman Phil Hare today released the following statement in response to Governor Pat Quinn signing the state capital construction bill.
"After years of gridlock in Springfield, today we finally have something to celebrate. The capital bill will fund everything from infrastructure to education, including Western Illinois University's Quad Cites campus and Amtrak. It provides an important match to federal transportation dollars secured in 2005 and puts Illinois in a much better position to receive additional funds when we consider the multi-year highway bill later this year. And at a time when our economy is struggling, this bill will help put more people back to work."
